GEAR LAB · TESTED · REVIEWED · COMPARED
We don't rate gear.
We tell you what to look for.
No ten-point scores, no invented lab numbers. Just the five things that decide whether a piece of dog gear survives a season in your car — and an honest look at which of ours does what.
The five questions we ask everything.
Every product in the shop has to answer these. If it fails two, it doesn't go in — which is why the shop is small on purpose.
Fit in your car
Universal means "most", not "all". We tell you which shapes actually work and where you have to trim.
Stays put
A cover that slides is a cover you stop using. Backing, anchors and straps matter more than fabric.
Survives hair, mud and a wash
If you can't clean it in under five minutes, it won't survive a season.
Heat and cold
Materials behave differently at 20°F and 110°F. We say which ones get sticky, stiff or smell.
Stores when you don't need it
Gear that lives in your car has to fold down to nothing. That's a real constraint.
Start from your problem, not the product.
Mud, hair, and one wet dog
You need a surface you can pull out. Cargo bay or back seat decides which one.

Restraint and a place that's theirs. Harness first, then decide between seat and crate.
No-Pull Harness → Folding Travel Crate → Read: harness vs tether vs crate →Heat, and a parked car
Water, shade and timing do more than any gadget. Bowls you can actually reach help.
Collapsible Bowl 2-Pack → Hands-Free Bungee Leash → Read: heat in a parked car →The three covers, side by side.
Same category, three different jobs. Prices are what you pay — not a range, not "from".

Straight answers.
Do you crash-test the gear you sell?
No. We don't run crash tests, and we won't repeat crash-test numbers we can't show you. What we can tell you is what a product is made of, how it attaches, and which dogs and vehicles it suits — so you can make the call yourself.
How do you choose what to stock?
Five questions: does it fit a real cabin, does it stay put, can you clean it fast, does it survive heat and cold, and can you store it. If a product fails two, it doesn't go in the shop.
Will a "universal fit" cover actually fit my car?
Usually, with caveats. Hammock styles need headrest posts to hang from. Cargo liners need trimming on some wheel-arch shapes. We flag both on each product page instead of pretending one size is truly universal.
If I only buy one thing, what should it be?
A surface you can pull out and clean — a cargo liner if your dog rides in the back of an SUV or truck, a hammock or bench cover if they ride on the seat. Everything else is a second purchase.
Do you accept free gear from brands?
We receive samples, and we say so on any note that came out of one. A sample doesn't buy a recommendation — plenty of what we get doesn't make it into the shop.
